ROCK-N-WATER 2019

AMP MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

As students enter their middle school years, they begin to experience the greatest number of physical and emotional changes that send them on a sometimes wild goose chase for identity. Who am I? What do people think of me? These monumental questions enter their awareness for the first time, making them wide open for input. The world has no shortage of answers for them but instead, we want all students to start from the baseline that they are loved and accepted by God, the Creator of all things. Every year, Amplify Middle School hosts a summer camp that sets the perfect stage for students to connect and thrive with a church family who loves Jesus through:

  • a distraction-free environment in nature to connect with Jesus and His people
  • sleeping under the stars, eating yummy and nutritious meals, and doing lots of fun games and activities to build rapport
  • daily devotions, worship, and time in small groups to apply the message to their lives
  • highlighting the unique gifts God has given each person through team- building and simply being together

We have been going to Rock-n-Water for summer camp since 2013. Their staff loves Jesus and are incredibly proficient at leading students through adventures and their campground is very private and safe. During the day we swim, hike, explore, and/or do river rafting followed by a night session with worship, a message, and small groups. All incoming 6th through 8th grade students are welcome!

OUR STORIES

"Amp is fun for me to both hang out with my friends, but to also talk in small groups about what’s going on in my life and God’s."

-Sam | student

"I thought that as a parent, my children's spiritual growth depended on me. The leaders at Amp have shown me that God is in charge of that growth. He has placed some amazing people at Amp to teach me that!"

-Christine | parent

"I like Amp because it helps my kids live more easily in community, and it helps ease them into adult MCs."

-Lorene | parent

"Summer camp helped me grow in my faith."

-Carter | student

"I have two kids in high school and they’ve been attending summer camp from the beginning. Each time they come home, I can see that God has worked on their hearts and they’ve met Him there."
