HOW IT WORKS

Teachers from our church and the community, along with other interested volunteers, give one week of their summer vacation (July 8-12, 2019) to provide a robust and engaging academic environment. Unique curriculum is designed that makes learning fun and results in measurable academic progress for all the students involved. Students make gains in every aspect of academic engagement, while also growing in their love of learning, and gain confidence as they see they are being valued.

Teens receive hands on training and function as small group leaders; they pour out their enthusiasm and energy to lead students in fun activities while building meaningful relationships with every student that participates in Turn it Up.

Breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge for every student in Turn it Up, so no one learns on an empty stomach. At the end of the week, there will be a big celebration (including lunch!) where each kid can show their families what they've learned, so don't miss it!

The result of this week long camp is that some of the children with the greatest needs in our communities grow and thrive.

All of these services and activities are provided at no cost to the participants because of the sacrificial investment of every leader and teacher in the Turn it Up program. Our joy in giving our time and talents for the benefit of these students becomes living proof of a loving God.

WHAT STUDENTS CAN BE A PART OF TURN IT UP?

Only students who receive an academic referral from their school can participate in Turn it up. Our academic program is so effective that every family in our community would want their students to participate, but we limit the enrollment to students that are struggling academically and come from situations where their family doesn’t have the means to pay for other enrichment programs. This careful selection process allows the children who have the greatest needs to benefit from our program.
