Good afternoon Resonate,

After careful deliberation and prayer, we decided to make some changes for this Sunday’s services.

We have decided to continue to hold our Sunday worship services at our normal times in Fremont and invite Hayward to join us as well.

We will be postponing our ten year anniversary party as originally planned. Although our anniversary is worthy of our celebration, we will reschedule this party until the outbreak has passed. Unfortunately that means Pastor Matt Chandler will not be joining us this weekend.

Why we are still holding services?

We have been closely following W.H.O. and CDC updates. We are also aware of the most current California Department of Public Health recommendations and FUSD decisions about non-essential gatherings. But corporate worship isn’t something that is dispensable or ancillary for Christians. We know that the corporate worship of God is both fundamental and vital to our Christian life and is commanded in Scripture (Hebrews 10:25 - not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.) So as much as we want to give freedom to those who feel it’s UNSAFE and would rather choose to worship at home, we want to give the same freedom to those who feel safe to come and worship with us.

Precautions we are taking:

There will be additional cleaning and sanitation procedures in our auditorium, lobby, and particularly in RESkids.

Hospitality will only be serving individually packaged foods.

We will not be serving communion until further notice.

What should you do?

If you are showing any symptoms of illness, someone in your family is sick, or those who have vulnerable immune systems, we encourage you to stay home this Sunday

We will be providing virtual services online through our website that include musical worship from our band, prayer time, and teaching from me. Please join with us online at the same times, 8. 9:45 and 11:30 in Fremont, and 9:15 and 11:15 in Hayward, so we could still be united even though many of us will be scattered all throughout the bay. You can do this by going to and clicking on Sunday services.

For those who are attending our services:

Please be friendly with others without touching. Give a wave or an “air high-five.”

Wash your hands often and use our hand sanitizer stations.

Cough or sneeze into tissues and discard them immediately.

Let’s pray and not panic.

  • Pray for the church and the world that we might be salt and light in these uncertain times.

  • Pray for the vulnerable, particularly the elderly and other high risk people around us.

  • Pray for the doctors and researchers who are working to create a vaccine for this virus.

  • Pray for the Christian community; this is not the time for self-preservation but a time to bear one another’s burdens, thinking more highly of others than ourselves (Phil 2:3) Yes, we should take caution and our wash hands, but we should also liberally others wash feet, as Christ washed ours.

I look forward to seeing many of you on Sunday and know there will be others who will be worshipping from their homes. May God bless you and keep you.

I love you!

Pastor Ryan
