WHAT IS LAY COUNSELING?

The mission of the Lay Counseling Ministry at Resonate is to provide accessible, Gospel-based mental health counseling to heal and restore, enabling individuals to live in the promise of the Lord, to flourish in His grace, and to affirm their identity in Christ, made possible only through Christ Jesus.

Lay Counseling is a ministry serving members and attenders of Resonate in gospel-centered and evidence-based approach. We provide a course of about 6 weekly sessions for people struggling with grief, depression and anxiety who can benefit from lay counseling.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We do evaluate individuals to determine whether lay counseling is a good treatment fit prior to being matched with a trained Resonate discipler-counselor. Lay counseling is not a substitute for clinical counseling.

If you are interested in receiving in lay counseling, fill out the form above and you will be contacted by our ministry to schedule a 20-minute initial appointment when you will be screened for appropriateness for lay counseling. Some individuals may be provided referrals outside Resonate to licensed therapists due to the nature or severity of the help needed.

Our lay counseling program is solution-focused and is comprised of 6-8 sessions. A suggested donation per course of therapy is $120. Donations in any amount help to offset program and administration costs.
