Why Oakland?
Oakland is a beautiful and historically rich city with two striking realities; with a population of 440,000, and over 125 spoken languages, Oakland remains not only one of the most diverse cities in this country, but one of the most unchurched cities in America. Jesus tells us "the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few." This statement alone gives reason for why we need more Gospel-centered churches here in this city. Oakland is full of people, lost people, hopeless people, all deeply loved by God and all searching for better news than this world has to offer them.
What is God asking of us through the Launch Team?
To be people who see Jesus as more beautiful than this world.
To be people who want to experience transformation and see it in others.
To be people who choose obedience and sacrifice over comfort and self.
To be people who are going to own the vision of a church on mission.
What can we expect?
We can expect to be empowered by the Holy Spirit as we go.
We can expect to find the most profound sense of community.
We can expect to see God do unexplainable things in, around, and through us.
We can expect to feel overwhelmed and have to depend on Jesus.
What is the commitment of the Launch Team?
Commit to attending at least 5 of the 7 Launch Team Meetings. (schedule below)
Commit to calling the Oakland Campus your home church for 1 year.
Commit to praying regularly for Oakland and Resonate as a whole.
Commit to serving regularly on one of our ministry teams.
Commit to pursuing and increasing in a missional lifestyle.
