The Suffering King

The world expects the greatest King to receive all glory, honor, and benefits. But God's upside-down kingdom defies all expectations—the King who deserves everything instead suffers everything, willingly choosing the path of shame, mockery, and death so that all the benefits of his kingdom would flow to us instead. And on Easter morning, when the King rises from death with scars still on his body, we discover the stunning truth: suffering is real—we experience it, we feel it, it's visceral, we can't reconcile it or make sense of it—but it is not the end. Joy is coming, a deep joy that holds both the wounds and the glory together.
