Night to Shine is a complimentary event for people with special needs and those who love them, hosted by local churches around the world. Some activities included are a red carpet entrance, limousine rides, dancing, karaoke, a catered dinner, a Respite Dinner for caregivers, and a crowning ceremony – Night to Shine is a celebration of God’s love for YOU, our Kings and Queens!
There are THREE WAYS TO ATTEND Night to Shine:
Honored Prom Guest--a Special Needs Individual aged 14 yrs or older. Guests may bring a plus one, or 'buddy', but are not required to do so. If a prom guest does not bring a buddy, we will provide one!
Buddy to Prom Guest--accompanying adult, aged 18 yrs or older, must agree to online background check, up to two buddies allowed per Honored Prom Guest.
Caregiver Respite Dinner Attendee--Caregivers are invited to attend an evening of dinner and entertainment--this is offered on the Resonate Campus, but is a separate event from the prom. Caregivers will be able to check in alongside an Honored Guest, meet the Honored Guest's Host Buddy for the evening, then attend this separate event just for them.
Night to Shine requires the help of thousands of volunteers across the globe and is a wonderful way to connect with and serve your community of people with special needs! From serving as a guest’s buddy or member of the red carpet paparazzi, to keeping the enthusiasm up on the dance floor or serving food, there is something for everyone.
To Volunteer at Resonate Church's Night to Shine, you will complete an application and receive a background check. Once registered, our team will provide you with all the necessary information and training you will need to serve in your chosen area. You must be 16 yrs or older to volunteer.
A Mandatory Volunteer Training meeting will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 9-11 AM at Resonate Church.
TESTIMONIALS FROM NTS-FREMONT
"The experience was wonderful. Our son loved it! We can’t even imagine all the work that went into planning and putting on the event. Our son is now almost 30 and our special needs adults are not embraced by the world at large. This event had him smiling from ear to ear, he loved dressing up and being around people. The whole process was amazing. It was our first time and we are still glowing. Thank you so much for everyone involved in this amazing effort!"
"Wonderful experience. You touched the hearts of all who participated."
"We had the most amazing night to cherish forever. We plan to make this a tradition for our family. I have to say every moment spent there made me feel so humble and strengthened as a special needs mom at the same time."
"You all not only made our daughter feel special but us too!! We are so very grateful for making our daughter’s first prom so special!! Thank you so much!!"
