Our Mission
WE EXIST TO MAKE DISCIPLES WHO MAKE DISCIPLES
WHO MAKE MUCH OF JESUS FOR THE GLORY OF GOD
Because of the Gospel...
We’re here to make disciples who make disciples who make much of Jesus.
We keep things simple so we can stay focused on things that matter.
We are honest about our flaws and failures because we are fully accepted.
We love new people because Jesus also loved outsiders!
We're commited to doing things well, and bring Jesus our greatest offering with all that we do.
We like immersive worship, and we do it often because Jesus is worthy of all our adoration.
Gospel Movement
What do we mean when we say we’re a Gospel-centered church?
THE GOSPEL'S CENTRALITY
The Gospel (the Good News) is that though we are sinners, God offers us grace through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. By putting our faith in Him, we are saved from God’s wrath for our sin, given new life here on Earth, and will spend eternity with Him after we die. This is part of God’s great plan to redeem creation and has implications for us not only as individuals, but for the whole world. It should change the way we relate to God, others, and the way we live our lives.
The Gospel is not just the A-B-Cs of Christianity, but the A to Z. We are not saved through the Gospel and then required to maintain our salvation through obedience, but the Gospel is the way we grow (Gal. 3:1-3) and are renewed (Col. 1:6). It is the solution to each problem, the key to each closed door, the power to face every roadblock of life (Rom. 1:16-17).
THE GOSPEL'S CORE MEANING
The Gospel is not that we do good deeds or try to be righteous people for God in order to get His love or forgiveness. Instead, the Gospel is that He demonstrates His righteousness through Jesus Christ and then freely credits His righteousness to us (2 Cor. 5:21). The Gospel is not that “it doesn’t matter what you believe, as long as you’re good,” but that “it doesn’t matter if you’re good, as long as you believe in Christ as your Savior.”
This has endless implications for us. Every Sunday, and in every aspect of our ministry, we seek to know the truths and live the implications of the Gospel.
Everything we do at Resonate is meant to put God on display, to focus others on the beauty of the Gospel.
