CURRENT SERMON SERIES:

The gods We Trust

Many assume the Bay Area is becoming less religious, but the truth is we have not stopped worshipping; we have simply changed what we worship. In a culture shaped by innovation, prosperity, comfort, and the pursuit of happiness, we often look to technology, success, and self-determination to give us meaning, identity, and security. These things promise freedom and fulfillment, but when they take God’s place in our hearts, they become counterfeit gods that cannot ultimately satisfy us. The Bible teaches that every human heart is wired for worship, and whatever we trust most will shape the way we live. In this series, we will expose the idols of our culture and see how the living God confronts them through Jesus Christ, offering a deeper freedom, a truer identity, and a hope that no achievement or prosperity could ever provide.

The sermon teaches that the Holy Spirit permanently resides in every believer, making us temples of God and giving us assurance of salvation. By His power, we are not only enabled to live a Christ-like life but also to participate in the greatest work of all: sharing the gospel and witnessing the miracle of salvation.

This sermon teaches that knowing the Holy Spirit frees us from fear and ignorance, allowing us to fully experience God's grace and embody His love. By understanding His person and work, we are empowered to engage with culture and navigate our lives with divine wisdom.

Using the healing of a blind man in John 9, Pastor Ryan taught that Jesus enters our darkness to reveal His glory, transforming our sight and our worldview. The sermon encouraged the congregation to acknowledge their need for Christ as the light of the world, leading to true worship and a new way of seeing others and creation.

Based on John 10, this sermon teaches that Jesus is the exclusive door to salvation and the only path to a truly abundant life. By entering through Him, we are saved from false teachings and invited into a life of purpose and fulfillment that only He can provide.

This sermon teaches that Jesus, the Good Shepherd, intimately knows His sheep and willingly lays down His life for them, offering Himself as a voluntary sacrifice for our sins. As a response to His profound love, we are called to trust in His guidance, find our place in His community, and respond with awe and worship.

This sermon teaches that God's greatness is unsearchable, yet it is revealed through His works and character, especially His mercy. Despite our tendency to forget Him and rebel, God, in His grace, has provided redemption through Jesus Christ, inviting us into a relationship with Him.
